Overview
AmiiboAPI is a RESTful API created for retrieving amiibo information. Ask it for the full catalogue or search for a specific figure, and it answers with clean JSON that any app, bot or website can use.
It is built with Python and Flask, and can be self-hosted from the repository or with the included Dockerfile.
Highlights
- Simple JSON endpoints to fetch every amiibo or filter by name or hexadecimal key
- Works with any platform that can make an HTTP request
- Data kept current through automated GitHub Actions workflows
- Documentation and a live instance at amiiboapi.com
Built for developers
The API is deliberately small and predictable. /api/amiibo returns everything; add a query such as ?name=mario to narrow it down. Full documentation lives at amiiboapi.com/docs.
Keeping the data current
The catalogue is maintained as a shared amiibo database, and GitHub Actions workflows check that database and regenerate the JSON the API serves.
Project status
After years of active development the repository is now archived. It remains available as a reference and for anyone who wants to run their own instance.
